Choosing the bank
We help you decide which bank and account type fit how your business works.
- Bank of Maldives (BML) or Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB)
- Conventional or Shariah-compliant banking
- MVR and foreign-currency accounts, depending on your needs
Banks need a complete, correctly prepared document pack before they open a business account. We put it together in the bank's format, submit it with you and follow up until your account is active — for businesses that are already registered.
We help you decide which bank and account type fit how your business works.
Prepared in the bank's own format, so the application is complete the first time.
Banks ask trading businesses for more than a new start-up — we get it ready.
We make sure the account works the way your business needs from day one.
Four clear steps. You sign and attend any verification the bank needs — we handle the rest.
We check your registration, ownership and signatories and agree which bank and account type to apply for.
We prepare the bank's forms, the board resolution and the KYC documents for every director, shareholder and signatory.
The application is submitted with original documents for verification, in branch or through the bank's online channel.
We follow up with the bank, help with any extra requests and set up signatories and online banking.
We help businesses open accounts with Bank of Maldives (BML) and Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB), including Shariah-compliant accounts at MIB.
Typically: the bank's account opening and information forms for the business, information forms and ID cards or passports for directors, shareholders, signatories and the company secretary, the certificate of registration, the Corporate Profile Sheet, the Memorandum and Articles of Association, a board resolution in the bank's format, and — for businesses trading over a year — the latest audited financial statements and tax registration certificates. Original documents are usually needed for verification, and each bank may ask for more.
Yes. Banks ask for extra documents when a shareholder or director is foreign — for example passports, visas and, for foreign investments, the Foreign Investment Agreement or the sector approval. Documents issued abroad may need to be notarised. We tell you exactly what is needed before you apply.
No. Tardigrades Inc is not a bank and is not affiliated with BML or MIB. Each bank makes its own decision under its policies and KYC rules. Our job is to make sure your application is complete and correctly prepared, which avoids most delays.
